Sitting down and picking the brain of the lovely Elizabeth @sendintheclowns! For our Wednesday writers Q&A 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
1⃣Tell us, Do you critique your own work? Explain.
A1. Yes ofcourse… Im not hard on myself though… At the end of the day they are just words… What i think is crap other people might love and vice versa… Which is normally the case… I puposefully put up poems that im not overly fond of… And it’s these poems that always get the most feedback… I grow to love them then as i feel i’ve obviously wrote something worthwhile… Also there are days were all my head can produce is *tumbleweed*… Annoying, but after the calm comes the *storm*…
2⃣Please explain the angle you approach when writing a story or poem.
A2. I like to make my mine short, simple, fun, concise and to the point… Give life and visuals to words… *flexes claw*… *swipes*… etc… I take in to consideration →Attention span→Fleeting thoughts everybody has… In my opinion if a poem/story is too long→ Some of your points will be lost… But this↑ is not always possible, it depends on what you are trying to convey… I also dont read anybodys on Collective Comprehension until i’ve completed my own, i would feel there’s might taint my own…
3⃣ What human emotion fuels your fire the most when you’re writing
A3. Things i dont understand adds fuel to my fire…Lies/Greed/Jealousy etc… Why people respond in certain situations the way they do… How people communicate/interact with one another… Contradictions…→ Not communicating→ Is still a way of communicating… Mind boggling issues get me reaching for a pen…
4⃣What writer or poet do you admire most? whose work would you say influences your daily life
A4. I have been writing since i could hold a pen… Its always been there… Early teens i learned about dark poets… Emily Dickinson ~Sylvia Plath… They described things how i seen them… Late teens/adulthood powerful music and lyrics inspired me and still do… Then i met my lovely @rayraysola and through her beautiful art i became inspired… We have been matching pictures and poetry for some time now…
5⃣Whats your favorite topic or discussion to write about
A5. Impossible to pick one… Make belief~Fantasy~ Behaviour~Real life~Topics that boggle my head and get me thinking… I like combining them also…
🆗Tell us one thing about yourself that you would like the IG world to know
Im very out there when it comes to writing… My poems/stories etc. Can be bizarre or even offensive to some… Especially the ones on my profile… So i hope people dont take it too seriously… They are only words, to me they are toys, i like to play with them… But i have to say i’ve had nothing but positive feedback from everybody so thank you all for that!! Also since joining instagram i have started taking pictures and editing them… I never realised how much effort people put in to their pictures… Its hard work!! So on that note *applauds* for everybody… So worth it when you get the outcome you desire… Which for me always sparks a few thoughts…→Resulting in a short poem for that picture…
